Shirlaine is a highly accomplished Manchester UK based freelance photographer - specialising in music, fashion and portrait photography.

Shirlaine is proud to be a Nikon Creator, her library can be sourced and she can be booked via her agencies Female Perspective, Getty Images and Wire Image and she also welcomes independent freelance commissions.

Shooting film and photography for twenty five years, her work is published internationally on a daily basis - by such heavyweights as The Guardian, The New York Times, NME, Rolling Stone, The Telegraph and Vogue. She shoots regularly for clients including Adidas, BBC, Coca-Cola, Cheshire Oaks, The FA, Fender, Gola, Hugo, Trafford Centre, Jack Daniels, Living TV, Max Factor, MOBO Awards, MTV, Paramount Pictures, Pepsi, Renault, Sky and Vevo. 

 

Shirlaine has photographed promotional and online images for many artists including Gary Barlow, Kasabian, Paul Heaton, Paul Weller, Stereophonics, The Subways and Unkle. Her photography has been featured on CD covers for albums by Aim, Inspiral Carpets, Jesca Hoop and The Longcut. She has photographed Morrissey for his own personal collection, worked as The Courteeners and Enter Shikari's official photographer and her live shots feature on the Greatest Hits tour program and calendar for McFly and Westlife's Croke Park live DVD.

 

Shirlaine has directed music videos for a variety of artists. She also worked as director of photography and in-house photographer for nine years at Hot Animation, producing key international programming and promotional images for Bob the Builder and Pingu. Shirlaine's own short film 'Good Girl, Bad Dog' won several awards, including the Royal Television Society's non-fiction award. She is currently working on her first book, 'Love and Bruises' depicting live roller derby bouts and creative portraiture.

 

Shirlaine is proud to be the official photographer for O2 Apollo Manchester, HMVCAN who highlight the plight of refugees living in the UK and Manchester Roller Derby, her favourite sports team. As a junk food vegan Shirlaine is also happy to offer discounted rates to animal welfare organisations, she regularly donates photo shoots to lifeshare, Manchester Dog's Home and is official photographer for GCCF
